WESTMINSTER, Colo., 6 January, 2005 - A newly issued report by Delphi Group finds both an emergent capability by BPM offerings to provide increased system visibility for more adaptable enterprise processes, and a rise in market demand for such reporting and performance metrics. Delphi further points to Clear Technology's Tranzax® software as one of the top BPM systems that can deliver both the organizational modeling and the performance data that comprise best-in-breed performance monitoring. "BPM 2005: Market Milestone Report," the result of in-depth research from both end users and leading BPM vendors, is now available from Delphi.
The report describes the industry moving into "Phase Three" of the BPM opportunity, where the current capabilities of many BPM systems to provide adaptable process orchestration - coordinating abstracted components of application functionality across adaptable, context-driven process models - is now being further leveraged through new visibility and feedback capabilities. In particular, the report cites how Tranzax supports visibility through granular and intelligent analysis of policy criteria. Specifically, users can review in real-time the impact of events on their business.
"What is indeed new, and at the center of what we call 'Phase Three of BPM' is the ability to adapt systems continuously to match ever-changing business environments," noted Nathaniel Palmer, vice president and chief analyst, Delphi Group and author of the study. "Over the last twelve months, we've seen the emergence of a framework for continuously validating and refining an understanding of business performance drivers, and adapting business systems accordingly."
Other key findings:
Respondents are placing a premium on the ability to leverage existing skills in their enterprise when pursuing a BPM strategy. Firms will not make an investment if it is perceived that implementation and/or usage will present a significant learning curve. A consistently seen benefit in Tranzax deployments is the reduction of staff training time (from months to days).
The ability to enforce best practices and required procedures was rated as the feature, if provided by BPM software, that would provide the single greatest benefit by more than 22% of respondents - a key feature of Tranzax.
The role of process modeling environments, which has been traditionally dismissed by many industry pundits as immaterial, was demonstrated to be a matter of critical importance to BPM evaluators. The Tranzax Workbench (the modeling environment within Tranzax) was designed with this in mind, to allow business analysts and non-technical staff to assemble and configure a Tranzax Virtual Workforce.
