Local Business Teams with CASA Community Volunteer Program to Make a Difference for Children Affected by Abuse and Neglect
WESTMINSTER, Colo.--Dec. 19, 2005—Clear Technology Inc., a Westminster based software company, announced its employees have made a difference in the lives of 174 local children by their generous support of local CASA programs. In just 3 short weeks, Clear Technology's 86 employees purchased $3500 in gifts and raised over $1700 in cash donations in an effort to make the lives of these children a little brighter this holiday season.
Each year, over 1600 children who are victims of abuse, neglect, and abandonment are processed through the local 17th Judicial District, which serves Westminster. CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, works with these children as their voice in the court system. CASA volunteers provide stability in a child's life when they are going through this difficult ordeal. CASA works first, last and always in the best interest of each child.
"CASA kids are generally in tough spots by definition, so every little bit counts. Getting new toys for Christmas is a very big deal," said Rachel Paul, a CASA volunteer. "My three CASA kids absolutely loved and appreciated the gifts Clear Technology donated. We are so grateful for their outreach to the community."
For the second year in a row, Clear Technology has supported CASA of Adams and Broomfield counties for it's annual charity drive. Last year employees donated gifts, clothing, and food for 12 families supported by the program.
"Our employees did an exceptional job this year in showing support for the community where we live and work," said John Kendall, founder of Clear Technology. "It has been a difficult year for many charities nation-wide, and we hope the effort and spirit of employees will go a long way to help CASA and its efforts."
About CASA Each year thousands of Colorado children find themselves without a caring home environment due to abuse and neglect. While the incidence of child abuse in Colorado grows, the very resources needed to serve these children are being strained. That's where CASAs come in. The organization's goal is to provide specially selected and trained community volunteers, CASAs, to advocate for abused and neglected children in the pursuit of safe and permanent homes. www.casa17th.org
